Feeling Lucky?

in the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County
By the time March rolls around, you might be hoping for a little St. Paddy’s Day luck to help get you through the end of winter!  However, even though the calendar says that spring has begun, you might think Mother Nature has missed the memo.  Here in the Enchanted Mountains, we are lucky to have fun in all seasons with events to keep you happy … even if the weather is not ideally cooperating.

Take your lucky charms over to the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino where you could win your own pot o' gold or find "Two Tickets to Paradise".  Play on over 2,000 reel and video slot machines that are ever-changing to the newest and most exciting on the scene!  There's nothing like live action on more than 30 table games including Blackjack, Craps and Texas Hold'em.  Eddie Money comes to the casino’s Events Center on March 6 … chant "Baby Hold On" as you and your date sing and dance the night away!

Chris Highbee, the Chillbillys and Sean Patrick McGraw will take the stage March 7 for an incredible night at the Country Blowout at Good Times Of Olean.  Have some good fortune as you attend this event that will have you thinking it's summer with BBQ, good ol' country music and even a mechanical bull.  Are you daring and lucky enough to be able to hang on for more than 8 seconds?

"March Into Randolph” the first Saturday of the month (March 7) and enter a drawing for a fun gift basket full of goodies from Randolph area businesses.  Stop in at Radiantly You for healthy cleaning and skin care products.  Search for all sorts of hidden treasures and antiques at 129 Main Street.  Head over to Senn-sations Salon & Day Spa for a new "do".  Visit five businesses total, cross your fingers, and you just might win!  For a complete list of participating businesses and more information on the “March Into Randolph” event, go to enjoyrandolph.com.

We are graced to have populations of bluebirds, with their beautiful eye catching color and sweet sounding song, call our area home.  Start to encourage them back after a long winter by setting up your own bluebird house at home and helping the Pfeiffer Nature Center build habitats in the Preserve.   They will teach you how to attract them and how to build, as well as offering fun filled facts about our State Bird.  Go to www.pfeiffernaturecenter.org to learn more.

If the weather does cooperate and we are able to see some of those four-leaf clovers peek out, then take to the snow-free roads on your motorcycle!   Feel the much needed warmer air as you experience the first signs of greenery coming to life along the tree lined hills.  Take a day off and head to one of our quaint towns with unique shops, stopping for a tasty meal before continuing home.  Visit www.EnchantedMountains.com for places to shop and eat, or to request your Ride Guide.  The Ride Guide contains six suggested Motor Tours of the highways in Cattaraugus County, with glimpses of what you will see and important information before you go!  Don't forget Gowanda Harley Davidson's Spring Open House on March 21!

Some say geocaching is like treasure hunting for adults!  See if you can uncover the 24 hidden caches on the Amish GeoTrails along the Western side of the county.  Find 10 out of 12 on each of the trails and we will send you GeoCoins!  Maybe not as valuable as gold coins, but a ton of fun hunting for them!
