A STAR IN THE FORST: THE VILLAGE OF KANE, PA Nestled at the edge of the Allegheny National Forest, the village of Kane is known as the “Star in the Forest.” Here you’ll find family owned shops, a winery, a candy store, a fabric store, a craft distillery and a fabulous stop for foodies - Bell’s Meat & Poultry. Shop and sample award-winning wines at Flickerwood Wine Cellars. White wines, red wines, and blush wines are available for gifting in a beautiful gift box or wine basket. Their specialty wines, which include no artificial flavoring or water: Pear - an amazing all pear wine which was the winner of Best of Show Fruit Wine at the Florida Wine Competition. Here, handcrafted spirits are created turning “grain to glass.” Vodka, rum, gin and whiskey are crafted here in this locally owned distillery. Tours and tastings, bar, table area, and a small retail area make this a fun stop. They can make up gift baskets (their martini basket is a fan favorite). SHOP SMALL – SHOP LOCAL IN SMETHPORT Lined with stunning Victorian architecture, the small village of Smethport, which is located along scenic Route 6 in Pennsylvania, offers diverse shops for holiday shopping. Watson’s Hard Knox is a family owned store with a varied selection of antiques and collectibles, along with a wide range of gently used items and custom made wooden items. THE VILLAGE OF ELDRED’S SINGULAR SHOPPING DESTINATION The Old Schoolhouse Village Shoppes is a shopping destination. Over 100 vendors and artisans showcase their creations in this 8,000 square foot shop. A restored schoolhouse has been re-invented as a village marketplace with a series of themed gift shops located along a painted cobblestone road. Shops include: Americana Sweetshop, Primitive, Country Splendor, Northwoods Cabin, Farmhouse Kitchen and Shabby Chic. You’ll find newly crafted furniture at fantastic prices such as a country table, large wooden kitchen cabinet, or a simple wooden bench for your porch.
