A day of peace, love and telemark skiing

The Tele ski event of the year returns on Friday, February 23. Telestock, presented by The City Garage, is a day of peace, love and Tele skiing! Telestock has become a fan favorite at Holiday Valley, running a strong 15+ years! Join The City Garage at Yodeler Lodge and on the Champagne Sundeck for Telestock 2018. This year’s theme: Hawaiian Luau.

A much different discipline than alpine skiing, Tele requires a free heel. The City Garage has sold and spread the stoke on Tele since they opened in 1999, and events like Telestock have created and cultivated a buzz. It’s different than what everyone else is doing, and that’s why The Garage embraces it.

“We’ve been doing Tele since Day 1,” said Trey Clauss, The City Garage’s main man. “It’s great to be able to offer something different. And when we can make an event out of it, that makes it even better.”

This year’s Hawaiian theme encourages you to bring your Hawaiian leis and beach gear. If you need Tele gear, 22 Designs, one of the main Tele binding manufacturers, is a big part of the event, as is Scarpa boots. The Garage will have a variety of equipment from them and other ski brands for you to demo, all available for sale.

“There will be lots of local Tele skiers on hand to help you out if you’re a newbie, and we have two certified instructors coming from HoliMont to assist,” Trey said. “We’ll be cooking food from Dom’s Butcher Block, and there will be a loose schedule of events once the day gets going.”

Telestock is a free event open to the public (you need a lift ticket or season pass to participate). Check out some Facebook and YouTube videos from past years to get an idea on how much fun Telestock is.
