Red Roses Are So Last Year

The traditional holiday for showcasing our love with romantic date nights, sappy poetry, flowers and gifts is quickly approaching. However, why do the traditional? Play in the Outdoors at the Marilla Winter Trek

Gear up for the romance holiday on the Sunday before the big day! Take your loved ones on an adventure at the Marilla Winter Trek, to be held Sunday, February 9th from noon-4:00pm at the Marilla Reservoir. The Marilla Winter Trek is located at the Marilla Bridges Trail, just five minutes from downtown Bradford, Pennsylvania on West Washington Street.

Spend the afternoon at the beautifully scenic Marilla Watershed area, link arms with your loved ones, and choose from multiple outdoor activities such as ice skating, ice fishing, geocaching, walking, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing on the Marilla Trail System. For those interested in cross-country skiing the Marilla Springs Trail, a free shuttle will transport you to the trailhead. If you lack the experience or confidence to participate in cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, try a complimentary lesson provided by members of the Jamestown Cycle Shop.

Enjoy playing in the outdoors? Then take a short stroll to the gazebo, located along the loop of the Marilla Trail. There, you can relax, warm up next to the bonfire and enjoy the refreshments provided by the Tuna Valley Trail Association. Bake Your Way into Their Heart

Who doesn’t enjoy a sweet treat on Valentine’s Day? Buy a treat or two for your loved ones at John Williams Pastry Shop. Or even more fun, spend the evening, Wednesday, February 12th, baking together at their Valentine’s Bake and Take. John Williams Pastry Shop is located at 20 Mechanic Street in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

This is a hands-on, fun event in the bakery, where you will enjoy making sweet pastry treats and enjoying the opportunity to learn new baking skills. During this event, dinner will be served. The event begins at 5:30pm and costs $39.99 plus tax and a 15% gratuity for dinner. Best of all, the delicious treats you make during the event are yours to take home! If you are over 21, and wish to, this can be a bring your own wine or legal beverage event.

Make Memories-No Reservations Required

Take your significant other’s breath away! Plan a romantic excursion to the nearby Kinzua Bridge State Park for a romantic stroll on the skywalk on February 12th to view the sunset from the breathtaking Kinzua Sky Walk. Meet in front of the classroom of the Kinzua Center at 5:30pm; bring a pink or red cover for your flashlight lens to add to the ambiance. Be sure to dress warmly, as there is usually a brisk breeze blowing through the Kinzua Gorge. As a group you will stroll to the end of the skywalk to watch a romantic sunset. Arrive early to tour the Kinzua Center to learn the history of this amazing engineering marvel. The skywalk is located at the Kinzua Bridge State Park, 296 Viaduct Road, Mt. Jewett, PA. Not just a Valentine’s Day attraction, the Kinzua Bridge State Park and the Kinzua Sky Walk are open year-round. Plan a day trip or weekend getaway, with the skywalk as a main attraction. Stroll out 624 feet into the Kinzua Gorge at a height of 225 feet, and peer down at the valley floor through the partial glass floor of the skywalk. Bring the entire family, and don’t forget your camera; the views are breathtaking! Seasonal hours at the park are Monday through Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm during the winter, except on President’s Day weekend when they will also be open on Sunday. Then in March, they will switch to being open seven days a week from 8:00am-6:00pm.

Celebrate Marriage Getaway at Romantic Olmsted Manor

This family-owned and operated winery puts special emphasis on the holiday of love and affection with a weekend-long celebration.
