Our bangin’ boards of this season will be the Burton Process Centerfold line-up. These boards are surely to make ‘em drool with the latest in pinup-worthy freestyle performance. Twin shape, camber profile and some sensual top graphics make for one of the most enjoyable rides of the season.

This Halloween costume themed race is truly fun for all levels of participants, whether you’re an avid marathoner or casual jogger. Costumes are encouraged, but certainly not mandatory, making this an enjoyable spectator event for those lining the start / finish area in downtown Ellicottville.  

The Winter Arts Festival is a phenomenal opportunity for the community to visit with local fine artists and artisans, and maybe even squeeze in some holiday shopping. The event is being hosted at Holiday Valley Lodge (a gorgeous enough location to rival the beautiful art that promises to be within) over two days, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21-22.

This month, SNOWED-IN took some time to sit down with the brains and skis behind HoliMont's phenomenal Racing Program.  Meet HoliMont’s Racing Director, Travis Widger, aka “Widg”.  If you’re a local, you might know this fourth generation Elliicottvillian.  And if you are a part of the Racing Program at  HoliMont, you certainly are familiar with him!  Travis and his wife, Laura recently had their first child, Jack Peter Widger, fifth generation, who they hope to have on skis near the end of next season!

The Brooklyn born singer known as “The Money Man” is thrilled to be coming to Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca for one show only on Friday, March 6 at 7pm.  “I have a lot of friends and a lot of great fans in the Allegany region,” said Money when I caught up with him recently.

There’s no doubt that winter in Ellicottville is always an unbelievably good time. By the time March comes around, however, many of us are ready for some consistent Vitamin D and warmer temperatures. Finish the year strong with these annual outdoor events hosted by Holiday Valley: Winter Carnival (March 14-15) and Pond Skimming (Saturday, March 28). 

We've seen it all these past few months - from the mixed bag of “yuck” falling from the sky, to our blessed lake effect storms that leave us tempted to call in with a case of the powder flu.  This season has been everything the “experts” called for and then some. However, winter isn't making its departure yet, and it is certainly far from over at one of the fine specialty shops in the village, Mud Sweat n' Gears.  Owners/operators Kim Reading and Miguel Azcarate are not only retailers by heart and trade; they're also well traveled and experienced skiers who bring a wealth of knowledge and insight into the products they meticulously hand select to take seed within their shop.  

In the forest there is a real sense of discovery - a sense of renewal and inspiration. Take a journey to discover the art, artisans and artisan shops in the Allegheny National Forest Region of northwestern Pennsylvania.

The Ellicottville Summer Music Festival is one of the very few outdoor music scenes that not only allows, but encourages, guests to bring a picnic basket in with them. Bring dinner and a blanket, even your lawn chair. Enjoy the show and have a family meal outdoors in the fresh air.  The BPO will play pieces from Star Wars on Saturday evening, while Sunday's main concert will feature Blood, Sweat and Tears.  Ticket prices start at $25; children 12 and under are free! 

Red Bull never ceases to bring creativity to its events, and the newest one coming to Holiday Valley on Feb. 21 excels in that department. All Snow will challenge snowboarders and skiers to bring their best on nothing but all-natural snow features - hips, quarterpipes, etc.
